Somerset West & Taunton, and Sedgemoor District Councils are mapping food and drink producers, suppliers and small retailers to help promote local products across the Council areas. The Food & Drink Forum are working with the Councils to carry out a survey along with improved mapping of food and drink producers to help inform businesses and the wider community of where to sell and buy locally.
The survey will help them find out more about what businesses really need to help with developing and growing their business over the coming years. This will ensure existing support is promoted effectively to food and drink businesses and any new support can be targeted where needed.
Independent retailers selling local products will be mapped to help residents and communities know where to go to buy locally made products to further support local producers.
This survey will help identify any business development and support needs, as the new SW Food Hub starts to provide local businesses with improved opportunities to supply into the public sector, including schools, colleges and hospitals from next year.
If you are interested in taking part in the survey, the online questionnaire can be completed , or call the survey team based at Food WorksSW in Weston-super-Mare on 01934 315 381 to discuss further or email enquiries@foodworks-sw.co.uk for more information.
