Based on the outskirts of Bridport, Washingpool Farm Shop is a family-run business, celebrating the current Farm Shop’s 21st birthday and 50 years at the farm in 2021.
Situated 3 miles from West Bay, Dorset, just outside the market town of Bridport on the B3162 heading towards Salway Ash, Washingpool Farm is run by the Holland family. Three generations of the family live and work on the farm, which produces greengrocery, meat and eggs for the award-winning Farm Shop and Restaurant.
Established in 1971 the business has grown dramatically to now include an award winning farm shop, restaurant, fishing lakes, caravan/motorhome site & two lovely holiday cottages. All these are situated on a 80 acre working farm that produces its own Devon Ruby Red beef, eggs and a vast array of fruit, vegetables, flowers and potatoes.
Washingpool is renowned for its range of fresh greengrocery as the family formerly ran two greengrocery shops in Bridport High Street.
A huge range of other food is supplied by local producers which the friendly shop staff are happy to give advice on, and the Farm Shop has gained a reputation for providing really good quality produce at good prices.
There are usually several events held at the farm every year, including a Spring Food Fair the weekend before Easter, Open Farm Sunday (generally the first Sunday in June), Halloween Pumpkin Carving and a Festive open evening before Christmas.
The Farm Shop has won many awards, including a Taste of the West Gold award every year entered since 2005 and the Dorset Food and Drink Awards three times.
Opening Hours:
