Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines has opened Café Patisserie Glacerie with head pastry chef Sylvain Peltier on Exmouth seafront.
The pastel-coloured cafe is located next to Mickeys Beach Bar and Restaurant (Caine’s seaside eatery, opening in May) in Exmouth’s Sideshore development.
Café Patisserie Glacerie serves French patisseries, homemade gelato, sandwiches, pasties, pies and salads as well as artisan coffee and milkshakes, all to grab and go.
Caines has worked closely with Sylvain for over 20 years in his restaurants and bars. He said: “It’s a celebration of Sylvain’s artisan skill, creativity and originality. His modern French pastries are totally unique: you simply won’t be able to find or taste them anywhere else. We will be bringing something very special to Exmouth seafront and we can’t wait to share Sylvain’s creations with the world.”
Peltier and Caines own Café Patisserie Glacerie as a joint business venture, French Pastries Ltd and are looking at other sites for future collaborations.
“I am thrilled to be working with Michael as a partner in our new joint business venture, Café Patisserie Glacerie,” said Sylvain. “Sideshore is such an exciting venue, and I am delighted to be able to share my pastries and gelato with Exmouth locals and visitors alike.”
