Tom Bunn is a chef and chef demonstrator of 20+ years’ experience. More recently he started sourcing ingredients for wholesalers. The idea for Sauce-it was born out of this experience.
With his business partner Jerry Kew and his team, they built ChefRadius, an easy ordering app for kitchens and suppliers. Jerry’s business Artery Solutions is in Large Distributed, Scalable Systems Design. When the partners were rolling out ChefRadius last March, they realised the approaching Covid-19 storm for catering would need new solutions and decided to build Sauce-It to support both catering industry suppliers and restaurants to reach consumers with their great produce.
Tom says: “We’ve built Sauce-it to help the hospitality industry – it’s chefs, restauranteurs and suppliers through both the COVID-19 and Brexit issues. We want to give them a way to trade safely, now and into the future.”
As a restauranteur or chef, you can set up an online Food Hall, free of charge and support your suppliers selling restaurant quality ingredients to the public with a ‘no stock no risk platform’.
Each food hall and stall is branded to seamlessly match your current website. All you need to take part is a mobile phone.
Sauce-it is gaining some strong interest. Fishermen for example can now sell direct to consumers and be promoted through chef owned food halls. Who wouldn’t want Salcombe crab and lobster at home!
Some fantastic fine food suppliers have already joined up – from Mevalco Fine Foods and Forest Produce to boats around the country and Scottish Langoustines from Loch Fyne.
To join is simple and free whether you are a chef, restauranteur, or supplier. Get online and start selling to an eager public at https://www.sauce-it.net/
