Sharp’s super limited-edition seasonal beer now available (but you’ll have to be quick!)

Christmas is all about giving and this year, employees of Rock-based Sharp’s Brewery will be given a very special gift in the form of a specially created Christmas beer. The ruby red winter warmer is called Scarlet Shores and has been lovingly hand bottled at the brewery in Rock for each individual team member. As well as treating its staff, Sharp’s have also made available a very limited amount of this beer for anyone to buy in 9 pint mini casks via their online shop, from today.

A spectacular, full bodied 4.9% ABV red ale, Scarlet Shores is perfect for warming up those dark Cornish winter evenings. Red rye, crystal and wheat malts give a robust body and spice to the beer, while English Northdown hops provide fresh berry and fruit cake flavours and late hopping with Bramling Cross contributes blackcurrant and plum aromas.

For the ultimate indulgence and for those lucky (and quick) enough to get a mini cask, Scarlet Shores will pair nicely with strong hard cheeses such as gouda or mature cheddar or alternatively rich, spiced fruit desserts such as figgy pudding.

The beer was brewed on the pilot plant (a much smaller size kit) in Rock, and the team have developed this single batch brew primarily for all Sharp’s staff to enjoy over the Christmas period. Sharp’s are also selling a small number of five litre (pint) mini casks of this brewery-fresh beer via its online shop. Not available for sale anywhere else, these are priced at £29.99 including delivery.

Head brewer at Sharp’s Brewery, Aaron McClure said, “Despite the obvious challenges the brewery has faced this year, our creativity and passion for brewing has not subsided and we have created this special beer with the best UK malt, and freshest UK grown hops. It was then fermented and conditioned, before being lovingly hand bottled and hand labelled for the team to enjoy at Christmas. 150 bottles of Scarlet Shores, half of the total brew, are being given to our team to enjoy at home, with the other half being made available online in mini casks. We are expecting to sell out fast!”

Marketing Controller, James Nicholls said, “The brewing team have loved channeling their skills and imagination to create something new and unique and give something a bit special all of our hard-working employees this Christmas. There’s an extremely limited amount of Scarlet Shores available on our online shop now so don’t miss out on the perfect Christmas gift for beer connoisseurs.”

Just 35 mini casks of Sharp’s Brewery’s Scarlet Shores are available now from Sharp’s online shop for £29.99 including delivery. To find out more about Sharp’s Brewery, its beers including its limited-edition releases, visit the online shop at: www.sharpsbrewery.co.uk/sharps/shop.
