If you would like to enjoy a special tea experience, then the 100% Organic Darjeeling tea from Deepali’s Terroir is the multi award-winning tea to try. They won another Taste of the West Gold award, this time for 100% Darjeeling High-Grown Second Flush Tea.
Deepali’s Terroir Tea is sourced from the finest organic gardens in Darjeeling, India, where the height, the sunlight and soil are just right for the plant to produce leaves which give Darjeeling Tea its distinctive delicate flavour and aroma.
This tea distinguishes itself from those in the marketplace by being 100% pure Organic Darjeeling Tea, as denoted by the Tea Board logo on the packaging.
Darjeeling Tea Is known as the ‘Champagne of Teas’ because the unique terrain and growing conditions at the foothills of the Himalayas, the highest mountains in the world, give it its characteristic subtle qualities. The tea plant, camellia, originates and flourishes in this area, from where it was taken in the first millennium BC to China and the Far East by Buddhist monks.
Heritage Teas UK, formed in Bath six years ago, sells the tea under the brand name Deepali’s Terroir, and has won awards from The Taste of the West every year since 2014 – three Gold, two Silver and one Commendation.
The judges found Deepali’s tea to have: “a clear and wonderful colour…lovely fresh tea leaf aroma…subtle and inviting quality, refreshing …and no harsh tannins or bitter notes or drying aftertaste… a perfect looking cup of tea”.
Deepali says “This is a testament to its quality which is the result of the unique skill of the pickers, all women, and the process of producing the tea. For every kilogram of the final product, 22,000 buds must be picked by hand, using just the ball of the index finger and thumb.”
Deepali’s Darjeeling Tea is served in some of the top hotels in the West Country where clients can enjoy the tea with its delicate flavours, anti-oxidants and low tannin.
