With the popularity of bread-making recipes on the rise Matthews Cotswold Flour, one of the UK’s oldest family-run flour mills, is delighted to be recognised by the prestigious 2020 Great Taste Awards. The mill, which has been trading grain and milling flour in the heart of the Cotswolds since the 1800s, has won an impressive eight awards across their range of speciality flours.
Italian Tipo 00, Cotswold Crunch, Eight Grain, Maizebite, Dark Rye, Canadian, Pizza & White Spelt were all recognised in the prestigious competition showcasing the best food and drink across the UK.

Matthews Cotswold Flour specialises in quality products for cooks and bakers who understand the difference between one grain and another – and one type of flour versus the next. With 22 different products all based on the grinding of various grains, it is what they do. Indeed, it is what the Matthews family has been doing at Shipton Under Wychwood in the beautiful Evenlode Valley for six generations. Make that eight generations if you count the two ancestors who farmed wheat and operated as cereal merchants before they developed the mill which has now been grinding grain for 112 years.
