Scottish craft beer brewery and bar owner BrewDog is opening a site in Exeter. This will be its second move into Devon following the announcement of a bar for Plymouth a month ago.
The company applied to move into an empty unit in Exeter’s Queen Street Dining, last occupied by Scandinavian restaurant KuPP in July 2018.
BrewDog had identified Exeter as a location as part of its “Great BrewDog Hunt 2019”, a campaign to find new locations for their bars with a finder’s fee of £5,000 or £10,000 for members of the public.
The sites in Exeter and Plymouth will be BrewDog’s first in Devon. Currently, in the South West, they have a bar in Bristol.
BrewDog was forced to close 100 of its bars during the coronavirus lockdown. Pre-pandemic, their profits were £14.9 million, up 72%.
