First blended in 1896, Jolly’s is Cornwall’s original soft drinks company. This much loved brand has recently returned to Cornwall. They have invested in new production facilities to invigorating the Jolly’s brand and product range to re-establish Jolly’s as Cornwall’s first choice premium soft drinks brand.
Last week Jolly’s launched their new range of premium craft mixers and soft drinks and you may be wondering why they chose aluminium cans instead of glass.
Managing Director, Cheryl Ingram said “Firstly, quality is fundamental to the development of our drinks and we want our customers to experience our drinks at their best. Cans limit exposure to both light and oxygen – thus keeping the product inside fresher and flavourful for longer.
“Cans also create a better airtight seal than bottles. During the canning process the container is completely sealed preventing any additional oxygen from reaching the product – while bottles can let tiny amounts of air in over time.
And here’s the big one for us – our aluminium cans are 100% recyclable and better for the environment!”
Being a Cornish brand, preserving the natural environment is important to the brand. Because cans are lighter and more compact, it take less fuel to ship them. Add this to the fact that the aluminium can is one of the most recycled and reused products, it made perfect sense to choose canning over bottling.
“It may cost a little more, but the savings for our beloved county are immeasurable!”
