The South West-based burger restaurant group Hubbox is planning to return to its openings programme after reporting a 34% sales increase in August compared to the same month last year.
The company, led by Richard Boon, will open their ninth site in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff on 24th October, which was delayed because of the lockdown. It then plans to open sites in Cheltenham’s The Brewery Quarter development next spring and then Royal Willam Yard in Plymouth in summer 2021.
Hubbox opened six of its restaurants for takeaways in May and June, operating both delivery and click-and-collect schemes.
The company secured a £700,000 load from the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme through Lloyds. All its sites reopened in July and took part in the government Eat Out To Help Out scheme.
